Episode 41

Arale Berberich: On Open Mics, Gender Fluidity, and Learning to Be Nice

Published on: 24th June, 2021

On this episode, Allison Emm talks with Arale Berberich, otherwise known as “Anson Obvious”. Arale talks about working and performing while being in quarantine and how she used online shows to her advantage. She also talks about what it's like to focus on growing and maintaining a local music scene to make Milwaukee - and Waukesha - a music destination as opposed to trying to “make it big” somewhere else. She also gives us very vulnerable insight into her journey with gender identity and how it has affected her.
