Five "Rules of Thumb" for New and Seasoned Musicians

Published on: 31st October, 2020

Let's get down to business! Host Allison Emm kicks off this podcast with Five "Rules of Thumb" for new and seasoned musicians. This comes from the perspective of a musician involved in the world of researching and booking artists for her own events.

These tips are as follows:

1. Get a website! Create a sense of professionalism with a full-blown website.

2. Facebook should not be a primary source of promotion and communication. The industry is changing, and standards have evolved for you to reach your audience and business opportunities most effectively.

3. Appearance matters! It's important to create a concise image to go with your music.

4. Fill the gaps between the songs of a performance. Use this time wisely to conduct a good image.

5. Prepare a confident setlist (his aids in filling the gaps in the performance).

These tips can help differentiate a good musician from a great musician!
